150227 Waiheke Island Video ...

Saw what looked like a Laser Olympic squad practising on the way out ( small weekday squad with training tender ) and a Fin dingy championship ( or a large fleet ) sailing on the way back ... Also an older New Zealand America's Cup yacht on a jaunt on the way back as well ..also we cruised past a rather large yacht on the way back which had connections with Bill Gates and other unmentionable persons .... terrible wi fi here ... Volvo cup .. chricket and a special conference on here .... it  took Gill 1 hour to log onto the Archers' Omnibus podcast ......This is the video that covers all three postings of still shots of the Island





27th February 2015 Langham Hotel Auckland ...

Sitting in the hotel room trying to get up to date with this blog .. Noticed a man on the roof next to our high floor room .. Its NZ vs Aus in the Cricket World Cup tomorrow played here at Auckland and the Volvo round the world races calls in at Auckland in the next day or two  ..Wi-i slowing down ..  we get outside and the hotel is surrounded by police ... Think its the PM visiting ... Gill was sitting in the lobby while I did a spot of shopping and got chatted up by the lady and men police force in the lobby ... It was Tony Abbot the Australian  PM who stopped by for a wash and brush up together with 600 policemen ..lots of them were  in Langham Hotel uniforms with earphones .. ... They sure know how to lock-down the place  ... 20:58:25 having dessert in the lobby and there are policemen in uniform patrolling inside the building ... The Aus are a bit nervous after Martin incident
